About

My first real big project was an emulator for the Apple Macintosh written in Basic. (Actually, FutureBASIC.) It ran the arcade versions of Centipede, Millipede, Warlords, and some other game I can't remember at the moment. At the time this was released, this was pretty heavy stuff.

I let Warman take over the role of improvements, to which he added PowerPC assembly language to it. (Yeah, Basic and assembly language, what were we thinking?) As the story goes, we lost track of the version numbering at .68 or .69. Eventually it would break, lock, and crash our Macs, and we eventually gave up on it. Then somehow he lost his password to his college hosted website, so it stays stuck forever in time thre. Oh well, we had fun with it.

Note: Some might ask why we didn't do this in C or C++. Well, as it happens, C/C++ compilers back in 1997 weren't free nor readily accessible to anyone (especially on the Macintosh platform.) However, FutureBASIC was affordable and the best tool we had at our disposal at the time.
