TateMe stands for “Tate's Media Engine.”
The idea behind the engine is to have a “programmable pipeline” akin to what we see in current implementations of OpenGL and beyond.
Currently the plan is to write this in PHP, although C/C++ would be easier, slimmer, probably faster overall; it's really up in the air at this point.
