I've finally gotten time to check the new ACL compatibility.

As it turns out, I was mistaken– ACL file names and structure have not changed, simply the interface to modify ACL has, and this does not affect BackupTool for DokuWiki at all.

Therefore BackupTool for DokuWiki will work regardless of the DokuWiki's version.

So in other words, the April 7, 2007 version will work, and is safe to use.

I've been setting myself up a better environment for web development for the last week or so, and I've learned some interesting things…

• Apparently apache 2.2 and PHP 5 are installed by default on OS X 10.5…
• MySQL was actually a breeze to set up on the system.
• I had some issues with apache's configuration, but I've got it under control now.
• Apparently Apple's XCode 3.0 comes with built in subversion support.
• And apparently Apple has separated the iPhone SDK from the rest of XCode…

The XCode items were surprising to me, I'm sure I just missed them.

But the most interesting thing to me is that I had started installing all of the above (apache, php, mysql) on the Windows side of the machine, however I think I'm at the point where I wouldn't need to boot that side up at all for web development. (I had been more accustomed to web development on a PC.)

On top of all of this, OS X is essentially a usable *nix type system (yes, BSD, I know.)

Essentially, this is my perfect web development testbed as it matches this site's hosting server the closest. (As in, it's closer to linux than windows.)

And it makes me think… this might actually be the perfect dev machine I've always wanted… and I've already had it for a year.

Crazy!

Added What I have installed, which is essentially a list of things I install on my machine whenever a I do a fresh install of the Operating System.

Google Analytics for DokuWiki has been updated.

• Fixed bug with tracking code
• Added better check for admin users (removed old 'superuser' check)

You might notice some changes to the site starting today, and continuing on through the end of the week, possibly into the weekend.

These are just some content-shifting experiments I'm doing to get the site better organized before the “relaunch” I've talked about before.

No worries though, these are good changes.

As a side note, I'm looking to do an update to Monobook for DokuWiki, look for an new version coming before Monday.

Google Analytics for DokuWiki has been updated. It now uses the Google's “New Tracking Code” instead of the legacy style. Thanks to Geoff W. and RJS for this update.

Good news, everyone!

I've done some compatibility testing with the newer versions of DokuWiki, and I'm glad to report that everything is working to my expectations except for BackupTool for DokuWiki.

This is due to the way account management (ACL) has changed this year in the DokuWiki core. I will have to investigate what has changed and make the appropriate modifications, and I expect to at least start this today.

Also, I have received a few updates via email for the DokuWiki plugins, and I'll be starting to make those changes soon.

More updates to come as I have time.

Spring cleaning time!

I've been putting a lot of my vintage books and video games I know I don't really need on Amazon.

I've already sent out five shipments, and there's a vast and varied (heck, even interesting) assortment to choose from.

Hi all; apologies again for the lateness in updates– I'm taking some radical steps to be able to become active in software development again; more details in the coming weeks.

Hi everyone… Just an update here– got sick (and better) over the last week– and been catching up on sleep.

I did not, unfortunately, have time to come up with a new release for Monobook for DokuWiki nor Multitemplate for DokuWiki, however, I do have faith for this coming weekend, December 1st, 2007.

Hello everyone– I've received many emails in the last few weeks with contributions for Monobook, Multitemplate, and the like.

Currently right now I'm completely slammed with school and outside projects that I've committed to. Honestly I've been so busy I barely get time to read my personal email (from you guys) to let alone respond to them.

Things will lighten up in a little bit, and I'll plan for a new release at the very latest by November 25th, 2007.

In the mean time, I'd again like to thank everyone for their contributions.

Well, I've finally had a chance to upgrade to the latest DokuWiki, and I don't see any problems as of yet. I'll be able to do some more testing today, and let's see about getting some updates of plugins. Sound good?

To improve development of the Software some, I'll be starting to move the majority of them to a local SVN (Subversion) server.

Once this is set up properly, I'll post some instructions on what the impact will be.

In other news, I have not upgraded to the latest version of DokuWiki yet. I haven't heard of any major compatibility issues with any of the DokuWiki related Software so everything should be OK for now.

• Better print support, thanks to Tobias Eigen.
• Proper rtl support, thanks to Tobias Eigen for identifying that this wasn't being handled properly.

The page for Multitemplate for DokuWiki has been updated; here's what's new:

• Pascal Bihler has added contributed a plugin for Multitemplate that helps integrate mutltitemplate with the style.ini files used in many templates– so less modification is required to get ordinary templates up and running. And of course this is awesome.
